NEW analysis from a Cirencester business has found seven out of 10 travellers who experience flight delays do not claim compensation from the airline.
Almost half a million flyers are expected to be delayed this summer for more than three hours.
The figures from money.co.uk, based in Cecily Hill, show that travellers could together be waving goodbye to as much as £112 million in compensation, or up to £460 each.
One third of those surveyed did not know they could claim compensation for delays, despite the ruling being in place for a decade.
Of those that claimed, 73 per cent went directly to the airline but 27 per cent claimed via a claims management or legal company, losing up to a third of any compensation paid out. For a family of four this could cost up to £552.
