FAIRFORD Town have welcomed the return of striker Ashley Edenborough to the club.

Ashley began his career at Cinder Lane, playing in the same Fairford side as current co-managers Gareth Davids and Ady Roper before going on to play for Burnham, Chippenham Town, Cirencester Town and Evesham.

Most recently the striker played for the Swindon Supermarine's where he scored 104 goals in 208 appearances.

"When I heard he was available I had a chat with him and we are delighted to have him back at Fairford," said Gareth Davies. "He was a promising young player when he started out here and it's great he has returned for the final nine games of the season to help us out."

"Having spoken with him, he didn't want to do the travelling in the Southern League at the minute and he just wants to get back to enjoying his football.

"We are delighted to be able to give him that platform as we want to try and finish as high as we possibly can."

Fairford Town host Letcombe next in the Division One West on Tuesday, February 16 at 7.45pm.
