Siddington Sports 0 Ashton Keynes 5

TITLE-CHASING Ashton Keynes took last week's good performance into an away derby fixture at Siddington and ran out convincing 5-0 winners.

Ashton showed excellent team work and determination to triumph on a testing pitch.

The first half was a tight affair with Siddington winning most of the aerial duels. However, the visitors eventually started playing the ball on the deck and with some slick build-up play Chris Field broke through on goal before calmly dispatching the ball underneath the advancing keeper.

Ashton scored their second when Scott Smith rose to powerfully head home from just inside the box.

After half-time Ashton continued to press the opposition and looked dangerous each time they broke. After a couple of chances went begging, Field grabbed his second goal with a good drive into the corner.

Making two substitutions, Ashton gave debuts to Dale Keen and Ben Anderson, who both impressed. Keen played as the lone striker and worked tirelessly. He was rewarded when his crisp left-footed shot flew into the roof of the net.

Anderson showed great experience in the holding midfield role.

Ashton then wrapped up the match with Field completing his hat-trick.

Latching on to an Alex King through ball he crashed a shot first time into the bottom corner.

MoM: Chris Field, for a captain's performance. And a mention for the the defensive work of Gary Baverstock, Kev Horton, Louie Rastelli, and Sean Wiltshire who didn't give Siddington any time on the ball.
