A MAN from Malmesbury is in police custody after allegedly posting violent threats online, targeting staff at Swindon’s New College.
The 32-year-old was arrested by police last night away from the site of the college.
A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: “We were called to New College in Swindon after a number of Facebook threats, by an individual, were made towards a member of staff.
“A 32-year-old man, from Malmesbury, was arrested yesterday evening in connection with the incident at New College, Swindon yesterday.”
The college was open today and it has been reported that students received a text saying: “There is no danger to staff/students. Police have given the all clear to go ahead with classes as normal.”
