Chalford 2 Bibury FC 1

CHALFORD earned a narrow win over top-of-the-table Bibury after bagging a second-half penalty from Ed Parslow.

Bibury travelled to Chalford expecting a tough game on a testing pitch and so it proved.

The visitors started well with McSherry having a shot saved before Ashley Rockley fired his effort over the bar.

Chalford came close with a header from a corner which was their only meaningful chance in the half.

McSherry saw another shot saved at the other end, and Montgomery headed just wide from a corner.

After a goalless first-half, Bibury took the lead through Rockley.

A great ball from Dan Shannon found Ashley Rockley who burst into the area before firing past the Chalford keeper.

The lead only lasted a few minutes as Chalford levelled a free-kick was pumped into the box, and as the Chalford striker Parsloe challenged Bibury keeper Luce the ball hit the striker on the back and somehow found its way into the net.

Bibury went straight back on the attack and it took a great save to deny James Keylock as the keeper tipped the ball onto the crossbar shortly after Chris Singh hit the post.

And at the other end, Luce made a good save to deny the home side.

It was Chalford who got the winner from the penalty spot, converted by Ed Parsloe after Alistair Ross conceded the spot-kick.

Bibury went looking for the equaliser but it did not come, and Chalford ran out winners, coming from behind to take all three points.
