TOP achievers from Farmor’s School in Fairford were handed prizes for their A Level success.

At the A Level evening on Tuesday, January 5 ex-students received their hard earned A Level and 27 departmental subject prizes were also handed out.

Subject prizes were handed out by heads of department who gave a speech about the winners.

A spokeswoman for the school, Carole Gray, said: “The evening was a great chance for the students reconnect with both their old teachers and peers alike, it may only have been a few months since some of them have seen each other but there was a fair bit of catching up to do nevertheless. ”

As part of the evening, Mark Elliott, from Help for Heroes gave a speech where he drew parallels with wounded soldiers and the students, saying it is measure of the soldier or the student of how they dealt with the challenges that lay ahead.”

Those that attended the evening were shown pictures of their time there.

Mrs Gray added:“Most of the students had been there from the beginning of Year 7 and so some of the images were a delight to behold.”
