ROCK music memorabilia will be on show at the Corn Hall in Cirencester following the unveiling of a plaque that honours the town's most famous musical export.

The plaque commemorating the life of Cozy Powell will be unveiled at 2.30pm at the Corn Hall tomorrow (January 7) by Queen guitarist Brian May, who was good friends with the musician.

A host of famous faces will be present at the unveiling including Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi, Suzi Quatro who is regarded by many as the first female bass player to become a major rock star and Bernie Marsden who has featured in Whitesnake.

The plaque unveiling ceremony will be open to the public but there will then be a VIP reception at the Corn Hall afterwards, which is invite only.

At 4pm after the reception is finished the Corn Hall will be open to the public for fans to enjoy rock memorabilia that is being put on display there.

Originally there was no plans to open the Corn Hall after the reception but the Town Council this week decided to make a change to schedule for the day.

Cozy played in many of the biggest ever rock bands including Whitesnake and Rainbow, died in a car crash on the M4 in 1998.
