SEVERAL crimes were committed in Malmesbury and the surrounding villages over the festive period.

On Christmas Eve two battery packs used for electric fences from a farm on Tetbury Road, Malmesbury.

A man smashed the glass window at the front of a licensed premises in Malmesbury on Christmas Day by punching it whilst intoxicated.

In Ashton Keynes, on December 27 thieves entered a building by jemmying a rear window and climbing inside and a stole a small amount of cash was stolen.

On the same day, a Malmesbury home was broken into.The thief attempted to take a set of triple ladders but was disturbed by the owner’s dogs and fled the scene without taking any property.

In Ashton Keynes on December 28, a car was stolen from the location from a commercial premises, which was later recovered by police.

At a farm in Sherston, on December 20, the lock of a shed was forced - the thieves gained entry but nothing was taken.

On New Years Eve in Sherston intruders entered an unlocked conservatory and left muddy footprints on the floor.

Police do not know whether anything was removed or touched inside the conservatory.
