CIRENCESTER Town Council is seeking comments from the public on its proposed budget,  council tax rates for 2016/17 and its medium term financial plan.

The council receives a council tax support grant from Cotswold District Council.

In the next financial year beginning April 1 the town council proposes the those living in Band D properties will pay an extra 75p per month [an increase of 7.85 %].

The council wishes to spend 2.5 % of the council tax fees on maintaining day to day services And 5.35 % on making a bid to buy a popular playing field on Purley Road, which was put up for sale by the county council earlier this year.

As part of the financial plan, the council wishes to reduce corporate expenditure by £9000 to £187,000 and spending £170,000 on the regeneration of the town centre.

The budget, local council tax and medium term financial plan will be considered and approved by the council at its next meeting on Tuesday, January 26 2016, ,which is being held at 7pm at Bingham House.
