A POPULAR Cirencester pub and bed and breakfast has been put up for sale but its landlords are hopeful that they will not be pulling their last pint anytime soon.

Owners of the Oddfellows Arms on Chester Street Hook Norton Brewery have put the freehold [ownership of the building and the land it stands on} of the business up for sale.

Pippa Harding who runs the Oddfellows Arms with her partner Brian Ingham said that she is optimistic that the new owners of the pub, which has five letting rooms, will not change it and allow them to stay on.

“We are still open as usual, we enjoy the people that come in. We will be very disappointed if it does change.”

Rumours have been flying around Cirencester about the pub’s future including that there are plans to turn it into flats but Mrs Harding said there is no truth in them.

“We are not taking any notice and neither are the customers,” Mrs Harding said.

“Hook Norton haven’t told us anything. We will be very sad if they do change it and they try to change it into something other than a pub.”
