Purton 1 Shrivenham 0
PURTON collected all three points at the Red House last Saturday with a single first half strike, writes Alan Eastwood.
Purton again went into the game with a number of players missing: Steve May was suspended while Dave Coleman and Sam Collier were unavailable, so Tom Cadden played up front alongside Ben Carter.
The game was scrappy throughout with neither side really testing the keeper.
When it came the goal brightened up the afternoon: Carter broke free of the defence and with his usual coolness tucked the ball way for what proved to be the winner.
Shrivenham rarely tested Purton keeper Daniel Gough while his opposite number was forced into only one good save in the second half from Carter.
Joe Dorey and Marcus Hall also both shot wide from good positions late on in the game.
