IT’S a double celebration time for a packaging firm based in Cricklade who are clocking up 25 years in business with their best ever sales performance since the company began.
GWP Group, was set up in 1990 by five directors, four of whom are still with the firm today.
GWP, have a based in Cricklade and Salisbury and now employ over 100 staff; have 500 plus customers and a turnover of £10million.
And since 2012 sales have increased by over ten per cent at the company in each of the last two years.
The last 12 month period has seen the best ever sale performance.
David Pedley, CEO of GWP Group, said: “Not only are we celebrating 25 years in business but we are reaching that milestone at a really strong time for the company. I’m absolutely delighted that we are in this position. The other directors and I would like to thank everyone who has been instrumental in our success, customers, staff and suppliers for helping to make us the strong business that we are today”.
The GWP Group is made up of five divisions and manufacturers all forms of industrial packaging including corrugated cardboard products, bespoke protective cases, foam inserts, ESD packaging (electro static discharge) and specialist coated and reusable packaging Correx.
In 2014, GWP invested in a new multi-million pound joint venture by joining with several other like-minded independent box-makers across the UK to form a shared corrugated sheet manufacturing business named CorrBoard UK. The plant opened in August 2014 in Scunthorpe and now ensures a constant supply of good quality raw material for CorrBoard’s partners.
