PROVING that 60 is the new 40, a team from Cirencester Tennis Club recently triumphed in the 2014/15 Gloucestershire Ladies' Senior League.
In the first year of this competition, Cirencester rallied to come top of the League, beating close rivals Painswick by two points.
The ladies played 12 matches against other Gloucestershire clubs, winning nine, drawing one and losing just two.
Cirencester’s players were: Dee Greatorex (captain), Lesley Ashforth, Janice Boulter, Maggie Fillingham, Caroline Fish, Rosemary Foy, Mary Merricks, Jane Muncer, Lilian O'Carroll, and Midge Welfare.
Presentation of the trophy will take place in December at Oxstalls Sports Centre in Gloucester.
