AN ENGINEER with more than 40 years experience has joined the team at Wiltshire’s John Williams Heating Services, a company that regularly works in Malmesbury.

Chris Timms, 63, has worked in engineering since leaving school at the age of 15.

He became an apprentice and started his career in Oxford and then moved to Wiltshire and spent many years working for a small company in Royal Wootton Bassett.

He was made redundant a few months ago when his former employer retired and the business was closed down. Chris heard of John Williams Heating Services, based in Chippenham, but operating all across the county, and handed in his CV in person.

“The company has such a good reputation, and it’s family run which is what I am used to and I enjoy this kind of environment. I was thrilled to be interviewed and then offered a job,” said Chris.

Chris will join a team of 13 engineers which includes three apprentices. He lives in Chippenham. Wiltshire with Linda, his wife of 43 years. The couple have a daughter, Jane, and three grandchildren.
