VILLAGERS in Ewen were pleased to announce that a new defibrillator has been installed in Ewen.
The Wild Duck pub has allowed the defibrillator to be placed on the front wall of the building, near the car park, as a temporary measure until it can be installed in the phone box.
It is thought to take about 90 days for the phone box to become available to have the life-saving equipment set up inside.
A defibrillator can be used quickly and efficiently if someone goes into cardiac arrest in the village, and has instructions for whoever needs to use it.
The one at Ewen was made possible thanks a donation from the Parish Council and South West Ambulance which provided the defibrillator.
It is now fully operational and registered with the emergency services.
