WILTSHIRE Police are appealing for witnesses following a road traffic collision in Highworth yesterday .
The incident took place on the B4019 Cricklade Road at the junction with A361 at 1.15pm.
A white Suzuki Alto was in collision with two pedestrians.
As a result of the collision, a 77 year old woman was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford with serious injuries. She remains in a stable condition.
The second pedestrian, an 80 year old man, was uninjured.
The driver of the vehicle, a 22 year old man, was also uninjured.
As a result of the collision, the road was closed for three hours whilst collision investigators conducted their enquiries.
Anyone who witnessed the collision, or the vehicle or two pedestrians before the incident, are asked to contact the Roads Policing Unit at Wiltshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be left anonymously.
