A MAN of 24 has been charged with four counts of robbery following an incident where a store assistant was threatened with a knife.
Luke O'Brien, 24, of no fixed abode, Swindon, who also faces two charges of possessing a knife in a public place, is in custody and was due to appear before Chippenham magistrates today.
The arrest followed a series of four incidents In one just before 6.30pm on Tuesday a man threatened a member of staff at the Juniper Stores in Haydon Wick, Swindon, with a knife. A struggle followed and the robber fled, but a knife was found at the scene.
A short time later a woman in her 60s was mugged as she walked in Purton Road, Moredon.
There were also robberies at McDonalds on Great Western Way on May 9 and at the Co-Op in Moredon Road on Sunday.
