ASHTON KEYNES Youth Football Club have just recorded their most successful season with two league trophies and a cup success.
The all-conquering U12 girls' team topped their league and on Sunday they did the double with a fantastic cup win over Chippenham.
This is a marvellous achievement given the strong clubs, such as Bath and Melksham, in the league.
The U14 boys also topped their division winning 20 out of their 22 games.
The accolades they received from the opposition this season included ‘it was like playing against a Serie A defence’ and 'you are the best footballing side in the league'.
The club does not measure success merely in terms of silverware, however. Every Saturday morning there are more than 100 children really enjoying their football, having fun and keeping fit.
Ashton Keynes Youth FC have room for a few more children at all age groups from U7 to U15 and so they are encouraging parents who want their boys and girls to develop as footballers in a caring and relaxed environment to get in touch via the club website www.akyfc.co.uk.
