CIRENCESTER Golf Club head pro Ed Goodwin had another good finish in the opening Gloucestershire and Somerset PGA Medal of 2014 at Minchinhampton Old Course.
Ed shot a one under par 70 which gave him a share of fifth place with trick shot specialist Paul Barrington.
But it was Bristol Golf Centre professional Giuseppe Licata who decimated the field with a brilliant nine under par 62.
With the win, Licata strengthened his lead in the Total Triumph Order of Merit as he attempts to become the holder of all three of the G&S PGA’s major awards; the Strokeplay and Matchplay titles are already both in his possession.
For the next three weeks, the professionals face a trio of Somerset Links venues with Burnham and Berrow providing the next test.
