Glos Northern Senior Div 2
Bibury FC 0
Abbeymead Rovers 1
A LACKLUSTRE performance from Bibury saw them lose at home to Abbeymead Rovers.
Chances were few and far between in the first half; Harry Deacon shot wide for Bibury and home keeper Steve Luce made a comfortable save from a long-range effort.
As the half drew to a close, the Abbeymead keeper produced a good save low down to deny Josh Russell.
Bibury started strongly in the second half and from a Danny Brunton free kick, Scott Huband powered a header goal-bound only to see the keeper tip the ball over.
George Peare was next to see a shot well saved, while Luce made a good save to keep Abbeymead out and the visitors wasted an even better opportunity when blasting a chance over the bar.
Midway through the half, Abbeymead took the lead when their striker cut in from the right flank and beat Luce with a shot into the bottom corner.
As the heavens opened, Bibury went in search of an equaliser. Huband saw a shot deflected wide and Peare headed wide from a corner.
The visiting keeper produced another top quality save to deny O'Neill. Sammy Russell then saw a headed goal disallowed for offside and right on the final whistle the Abbeymead keeper made the last of a series of excellent saves.
