A MICHELIN star-winning hotel near Malmesbury is celebrating 10 years of success.

The 23-bed Whatley Manor at Easton Grey opened its doors on July 1 2003 and is commemorating a decade in business with a celebratory dinner this Monday.

Within 18 months of opening head chef Martin Burge won a Michelin Star for the quality of his cooking in hotel restaurant The Dining Room, achieving a second after only five years.

Other awards won by the hotel – which also offers a spa and brassiere as well as music and cinema evenings – include five red starts and four rosettes from the AA and being named the fourth best leisure hotel in the world by Bilanz Magazine.

General manager Peter Egli said he was delighted by the success the venue had seen over the past decade.

“Together with the team I am also delighted with the praise and numerous awards we have received since opening and I would like to thank you for your continued support which drives us ever further in the pursuit of excellence for our guests,” he said.
