A FOOTBALL fan put his best tiger foot forward after walking from Cirencester to Cheltenham to raise money for his "nomadic" team.

Gloucester City community officer Jim Hart walked more than 55 miles from Meadow Park in Gloucester to Forest Green Rovers then Cirencester and finally Cheltenham Town's Whaddon Road to raise money for Gloucester City.

Dressed in the team’s tiger mascot costume, he travelled between venues the club has been forced to play at after home ground Meadow Park flooded in 2008.

Jim received a warm welcome when he arrived at Cirencester Town football club at Kingshill where he was met by veteran player and office manager Scott Griffin, who recently notched up his 1000th appearance for the club.

"I did it to highlight the nomadic existence of Gloucester City FC since it lost the ground," Jim said.

"The support in Cirencester was fantastic and I hope to continue to raise more money and look to do more events in the future."

He has raised £1,000 for Gloucester City so far.
