A PEDESTRIAN has been killed by a heavy goods vehicle on the M5 motorway.

Gloucestershire Police are now appealing to the public for information following the death of the male pedestrian on Tuesday, January 8.

The collision happened between junctions 10 and 9 on the northbound carriageway at around 5.55pm when a heavy goods vehicle collided with the pedestrian.

The pedestrian, a man believed to be in his late 40’s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Lanes one and two of the carriageway were closed for around four hours whilst the emergency services worked at the scene.

The southbound carriageway remained open.

Any witnesses to the collision that haven’t yet spoken to officers are asked to call Gloucestershire Police by dialling 101 and quoting incident number 361 of February 8.
