PARTY in the Parc at Wotton Community Sports Parc on Saturday, June 17 promises to be a family fun day with something for everyone, raising money to maintain the site and add more sports facilities.
The community party will celebrate everything that has been achieved at the Parc so far.
As well as sporting activities, there will be live music, food and drink and children's entertainment.
Rob Hayward, chairman of the Party in the Parc organizing group, said: "We’re a sports foundation so we’re going to have sporting activity. The day kicks off with a fancy dress parc run and there will then be a hockey festival on our all-weather pitch as well as football on the Astroturf. There will also be a scooter jam on the skate park. For those looking to relax we will also have drop in Tai Chi.
"This is a family day and so there will be lots of children’s entertainment. We have a children’s activity tent, a circus skills drop-in tent and a fancy dress parade.
There will also be two live music stages with a total of 14 bands and solo acts performing."
There will also be a chance for other community groups to get involved and there will be stalls and displays from local organisations, many fundraising for their own good causes.
Party organisers are still looking for volunteers to help out.
Rob explained: "The organising group are working really hard and moving mountains to make this a great day but there’s always room for more. What we need are practical people to help with some of the organisation beforehand and to act as stewards on the day."
