MALMESBURY Abbey Music Society is holding a free Tea Time Organ Recital with Jonathan Adkins, organist and choirmaster at Malmesbury Abbey on Wednesday, April 27 at 3pm.
Jonathan Adkins is organist and choirmaster at the Parish Church of St Mary, Tetbury.
The programme is as follows:
Mendelssohn (Sonata no. 2 J S)
Bach (Fantasia in C minor BWV 562 J S)
Bach (Two chorale preludes on Liebster Jesu)
Howells (Psalm prelude set 1 no1)
Rutter (Toccata in Seven)
After studying languages at Heriot -Watt University, Jonathan returned to music study and was encouraged by the late James Cowley to play for services at Tetbury Parish church.
He was subsequently appointed organist and Choirmaster there in 2011.
He now teaches piano to a wide range of students in and around Tetbury.
