Mya Hyndman was the winner of Child of the Year at last week's Pride of the Cotswolds awards ceremony

Mya, 10, has overcome the difficulties she has faced due to her ADHD.

She hosts an evening every week at Mill House care and dementia home, spreading her positivity throughout the building.

Recalling the moment she got up on stage Mya said: “I started walking and started crying.

“I was really excited.

“I just want to thank everybody.”

Explaining why she spends so much time with the residents of Mill House, Mya said: “I want them to have a better life and to make them feel like they are part of something.”
