SWINDON BOROUGH COUNCIL
(WAITING AND LOADING RESTRICTIONS AND PARKING PLACES CONSOLIDATION ORDER 2014) EXPERIMENTAL ORDER (NO.3) 2016
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on the 9th November 2016 Swindon Borough Council made an Experimental Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to be operative from the 18th November 2016 for the duration of 18 months.
The effect of the Order is to impose variations to the existing residents parking by introducing 'dual use' bays for limited waiting and residents parking for Zone C Parking Permits and by revoking the 5 minutes limited waiting from the Residents Parking Bays in Zone C. The Order also seeks to remove a section of 'no waiting at any time' restriction on the west side of Milton Road to be replaced with 'duel use' bays for limited waiting and resident parking for Zone C Permit Holders.
The above variations will be indicated by signs and lines on the following streets in Zone C:
Chester Street, Theobald Street, Maxwell Street, Lorne Street, Tennyson Street and Milton Road.
A copy of the Order and plan showing the extent of each restriction on each of the above streets may be inspected at the One Stop Shop, Wat Tyler House, Euclid Street, Swindon during normal office hours or online on www.swindon.gov.uk/trafficregulationorders.
The Experimental Order has been made to allow for an assessment of the changes before a decision is taken to make it permanent.
Any person wishing to make representations whether to object or support the Order before it is made permanent must do so in writing quoting the reference (TRO/ Experimental/Zone C) specifying the grounds on which they are made within 6 months of the Experimental Order coming into force or if the Order is subsequently varied or modified within 6 months of the variation or modification coming into force.
If you wish to question the validity of the Order, or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any requirements of that Act or of any instrument made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may, within 6 weeks from 9 November 2016 apply to the High Court for this purpose.
