SECTION 14 - THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 NOTICE OF TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ORDERS FOR ROAD/ FOOTPATH CLOSURES AND TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

Notice is given that SWINDON BOROUGH COUNCIL made the following temporary orders:

(STR0000109 Marlborough Road, Swindon) This Order is being introduced to allow for traffic light signal works and will prohibit vehicles from proceeding on Marlborough Road between Commonhead and Coate Roundabouts at a speed exceed 40mph. The Order will be effective from the 15 February 2021 for 6 months but it is expected the works be carried out on the 15 February to 26 March 2021. (STR00D114 Tadpole Lane, Swindon) This Order is being introduced to allow for resurfacing works and will prohibit vehicles from proceeding on Tadpole Lane between Green Street and William Morris Way. Traffic to be diverted via Green Street and William Morris Way. The Order will be effective from the 22 November 2020 for 6 months but it anticipated the works will be carried out overnight on the 22 November 2020 between the times of 9am to 2pm.

(WAITING AND LOADING RESTRICTIONS AND PARKING PLACES CONSOLIDATION ORDER 2017) -EXPERIMENTAL ORDER (NO. 4) 2020

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on the 18 November 2020 Swindon Borough Council made an Experimental Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to be operative from the 23 November 2020 for the duration of 18 months. Sleaford Close at the entrance to Tregoze Primary School Introduction of school keep clear markings outside the entrance of Tregoze Primary School which prohibits stopping from Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm, No Waiting from Monday to Friday between 8am to 6pm and No Waiting At Any Time restrictions in the vicinity of the entrance to Tregoze Primary School. The Order and plan showing the extent of the restrictions can be viewed online on

The Experimental Order is introduced to allow the Council to implement the restrictions with immediate effect. Any person wishing to make representations whether to object to or support the Order before it is made permanent must do so by completing the consultation form which can be found at

under 'experimental traffic regulation orders' reference (H&T/TRO/Sleaford Close) by no later than 23 May 2021. Any objection or representation received will form part of a public record which may be made publicly available.

If you wish to question the validity of the Order, or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any requirements of that Act or of any instrument made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may, within 6 weeks from 18 November 2020 apply to the High Court for this purpose.

BUS LANE AMENDMENT ORDER NO. 2 2020

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, under the relevant sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, that on the 18 November 2020 the Council made the above order which is a continuation of the experimental order in operation since 8 April 2018. The experimental order allowed taxis defined as a hackney carriage licenced by Swindon Borough Council under Section 37 of the Town Police Clauses Act 1847 to enter and proceed in the following bus gates and bus only roads located at and as indicated by signs:

Bristol Street, Church Place, Penzance Drive (from Rodbourne Road), Penzance Drive (from Wootton Bassett Road), Princes Street/Fleming Way (both directions), Fleming Way/Corporation Street and Manchester Road/County Road. The Order will be operative from the 20 November 2020. A copy of the Order and plan may be viewed online at;

If you wish to question the validity of the Order, or any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirements of that Act or of any instrument made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may, within 6 weeks from 18 November 2020 apply to the High Court for this purpose.

(Waiting and Loading Restrictions and Parking Places Consolidation) Order 2017 (Variation No. 23) 2020 -Ref: (H&T/TRO/Church Road)

The introduction of 'no waiting at anytime' and a bus stop clearway where stopping is prohibited except for buses on the south side of Church Road, Wanborough (Waiting and Loading Restrictions and Parking Places Consolidation) Order 2017 (Variation No. 24) 2020 -Ref: (H&T/TRO/Upham Road)

To introduce a 'School Keep Clear' marking which prohibits

vehicles from stopping, Mon - Fri 8am to 5pm, on Upham Road

on the entrance to the road leading to Holy Rood Junior School

To introduce 'no waiting 8am-6pm Mon-Fri' on Falmouth Grove

outside the west entrance to Lawn Manor Academy School and

a 'School Keep Clear' marking which prohibits vehicles from

stopping, Mon - Fri 8am to 5pm, outside the entrance of Lawn

Manor Academy School, Salcombe Grove.

marking which prohibits vehicles from stopping, Mon - Fri 8am

to 5pm, outside the entrance of St Mary's Catholic Primary

School, Bessemer Road East.

(Waiting and Loading Restrictions and Parking Places Consolidation) Order 2017 (Variation No. 28) 2020 -Ref: (H&T/TRO/Lainesmead Primary School) To revoke the 'No waiting football days only Sat-Sun lpm-6pm and Mon-Wed 4pm-10pm' to be replaced with 'no waiting at any time' along Eastern Avenue and Queens Drive Service Road, introduction of 'no waiting at anytime' on South View Avenue and introduction of 'No Waiting Mon-Fri 8am-9.30am and 2.30pm-4pm' on Eastern Avenue and South View Avenue A copy of the documents for the Orders may be inspected online at

Revocation of the 'limited waiting 1 Hour Mon-Sat 9am-6pm No Return within 1 Hour' to be replaced with 'no waiting at any time' restriction on Cricklade Road (east side) outside Property No's 98-102 to be operative from the 27 November 2020. (Waiting and Loading Restrictions and Parking Places Consolidation) Order 2017 (Variation No. 17) 2020 -Ref: (H&T/TRO/Turnball)

Implementation of 'no waiting at any time' on Turnball, Chiseldon at its junctions with Hodson Road and Slipper Lane to be operative from the 3 December 2020. A copy of the documents for the Orders may be inspected online
