Tetbury and Slimbridge share the spoils after epic encounter

Stroud & District Div 1.

Tetbury 5 Slimbridge Reserves 5.

TETBURY were denied a win in an incredible match when Slimbridge grabbed a late equaliser with their only attack of the second half.

Tetbury drew first blood when Ricky Seal calmly slotted in from a narrow angle. Seal was then unlucky to see a header saved just moments later.

Slimbridge equalised from the edge of the box before seemingly taking control of the game with three further goals to lead 4-1.

However, Tetbury pulled a goal back before half-time via Scott Seal to make it 4-2, while Dave Law saw a header superbly saved.

The second half started with Town on the front foot and they scored through Phil Hall’s superb overhead kick.

Spurred on, Tetbury drew level with an own goal, before Jake Sharpe grabbed a fifth to put the Town in front again.

However, the drama was not finished as Slimbridge levelled in the closing minutes.

MoM: Mike Jackson.
