Phil Smith’s round-up for the Cirencester & District Football League
12:02pm Tuesday 25th September 2012 in Sport
LAST weekend saw the first round of the CIA-sponsored Charities Cups for the Cirencester League football teams, writes Phil Smith.
In the CIA Arthur Shipway Memorial Cup, Down Ampney and CHQ United met at Down Ampney. CHQ kept up the good form they have been showing this season and romped to a 4-1 win. In the other tie, Bibury Reserves disposed of Sherston 5-0.
In the CIA Mills-Roberts Memorial Cup matches, the reserve sides of Down Ampney and Sherston emulated their first teams and bowed out of the competition.
The winners were Oaksey Reserves and Corinium Sports. The latter required extra time to get through.
