ON Saturday (May 12), Beaufort Polo Club in Tetbury will play host to the 2012 Charity Polo Day in aid of national charity, the Willow Foundation.

The event, now in its fourth year, will showcase a 12-15 goal exhibition polo match with young England prospects.

Fund-raising activities throughout the afternoon aim to raise £20,000 for the charity. This year's sponsors include fine watchmakers Jaeger-LeCoultre, manufacture of the Iconic watch 'Reverso', rooted in the history of polo since 1931 and Kuoni, Britain's best luxury travel and tour operator.

Each has joined forces in sponsorship with a Bath- based company, Mallory Jewellers and World Market Travel respectively.

Team Jaeger-LeCoultre/ Mallory, captained by Tom Morley, and Team Kuoni/World Market Travel, captained by Richard Le Poer, will battle it out for the Willow Foundation Shield.

Prizes will also be presented to the best playing pony and most valuable player.

The Charity Polo Day is open to the general public with hospitality available in the pitch-side marquee. Guests are invited to enjoy a unique Reverso exhibition, a live auction conducted by BBC presenter Martin Roberts and a three-course meal courtesy of renowned caterers, Williams Kitchen.

Attendees will include Willow co-founder and former Arsenal goalkeeper, Bob Wilson OBE, and well-known faces from sport and screen - including England and Bath players, Lee Mears and Danny Grewcock, England polo captain Luke Tomlinson and BBC local news presenter Alex Lovell.
