Hotly-disputed sending-off turns Tetbury fortunes

Gloucester Div 2.

Bristol Aeroplane Co 22, Tetbury 6.

A HOTLY-DISPUTED red card for the Tetbury winger Jones completed changed the course of a game that the visitors were leading 6-0 at half-time.

Tetbury dominated the first half against mid-table rivals Bristol Aeroplanes thanks to good set pieces and strong running from the Shute, Hope and Jones.

Tetbury’s scrum was solid and created a great platform for the backs, but they were unable to finish several good chances and had to settle for a 6-0 lead thanks to the boot of Rudland.

In the second half, Tetbury struggled to get out of their own half and conceded a try ten minutes in.

In defence, Tebury remained strong but a good tackle from Jones was wrongly punished and Aeroplanes went on to score two tries and a penalty against the 14 men of Tetbury and win the game 22-6.
