MALMESBURY Marauders Over 50s Walking Football team were denied a semi-final place in the regional People’s Cup competition played in Bristol last Sunday only on goal difference.
Some 4,000 teams and 34,000 amateur players took part in round one of the FA Peoples Cup in a number of categories at 129 different venues around the country.
Malmesbury gained wins over teams from Bristol, Westbury and Weston-super-Mare but they found Gloucester-based Abbeymeads too hot to handle going down 4-0.
The semi-final round of the Peoples Cup takes place February 27-28. Categories: Adult Male, Adult Female, U16 Boys, U16 Girls, U14 Boys, U14 Girls, Male Veterans, Female Veterans, Walking Football (Over 50s & mixed), Disability.
Semi-final victors will then compete in the finals in March, with the hope of winning tickets to The Emirates FA Cup Final at Wembley.
