Cirencester League Div Two

Oaksey Reserves 4 Tetbury Town III 0

OAKSEY RESERVES claimed a convincing ninth league win of the season to move into second place in division two of the Cirencester League.

In truth the win should have been greater but Tetbury defended well in the second half having raced to a 3-0 half-time lead.

Top scorer Gareth Jones scored a hat-trick – two early goals and a third in the 75th minute which owed everything to the persistence of Tom Topping, who skated past at least four defenders before the ball found its way to Jones.

Jamie Jobbins completed the first-half scoring with a fine individual strike.

There is no doubt that this season’s Oaksey Reserves side have improved all round and the introduction of Jobbins, George Kent and Joe Baptiste has been a major plus.
