August Midweek Medal
TERRY BRISLAND produced a magnificent net 64 to win the August Midweek Medal at Cirencester Golf Club.
But his victory came courtesy of 'countback' from Philip Woodhall who also shot a net 64 and must have thought he had done enough to win.
Richard Hicks continues his assault on the biggest-bandit-of-the season award with another sub-par score of net 69 to take third place, this time on countback from Lawrence Telling (69) who had to be content with fourth place.
Youngster Chalmers Phin recorded the lowest gross score of 78.
August Medal
THE mild weather was appreciated by the entrants and no doubt helped to contribute to the low scoring. Division One was won by Jonathan Peach with a net 66. In a fiercely fought competition, Graham Miller took the Division Two title with a fine net 65 just squeezing in ahead of Clive Montgomery (65) on countback.
Man-of-the-moment Brisland returned yet another sparkling score with a net 65 to win Division Three.
Mitch Caunt recorded the best gross score of the day with a 69.
