Cirencester AC and Triathlon Club Hereford Parkrun, 5km trails.

CIRENCESTER AC's international triathlete Jenny Manners made a little bit of history at the Hereford Parkrun when proving the overall winner in a time of 18.41.

Hereford has put on 44 Parkrun races and it is the first time one has been won by a woman.

Jenny continues to build a reputation as a strong triathlon competitor internationally.

Her mum Helen also ran and finished midfield in 64th place with a time of 29.51.

Swindon Parkrun.

HOWARD EWAN has been running with Ciren for about two years and is getting quicker by the month. He finished fifth in Swindon, nine seconds off of his PB.

Coincidentally, his time at Lydiard Park was just eight seconds slower than Jenny’s at Hereford, so it would have been a good battle between them.

David Moss pushed harder to come in 44th and Barbara Thomas was first FV55 with Lisa Carpenter, who is training hard for an upcoming mile race, finishing a few places behind.

Results: 1, Nyle Clinton (Swindon Harriers) 15.18; 5, Howard Ewan 18.49; 44, David Moss 21.33; 174, Barbara Thomas 26.42; 188, Lisa Carpenter 27.09. 413 finished.

Portishead Triathlon, 400m swim, 25km bike, 5km run.

ON A bike course that was described as having three significant climbs and a run course that was undulating, Terry Ranger (1:31.59) still found time to admire the coastal views despite the testing terrain. He was 16th in his category of 32 and said that the competition was particularly tough as he finished 129th out of 345 athletes. The race winner was Luke Grenfell-Shaw (Durham Uni) in 1:08.18.
