ENERGETIC five-a-side teams battled it out for prizes donated by Premiership and Championship sides to raise funds for the new Baptist Church building in Cirencester.

The tournament organised by Martin Rigley and Jethro Kingsley followed a Champions League format.

With the matches played at the Kingshill football pitches, it was the Smoking Dogs team who emerged victorious, having won all their games.

They were rewarded with memorabilia, tour tickets and a signed shirt kindly donated by Reading, Wolves, Leicester City and Sunderland football clubs.

Organisers Rigley and Kingsley, both from the church, said: "This was great fun and an opportunity for all kinds of people from the local community to get to know each other and play a part in funding the new church and community building. Thank you to everyone who played."
