FAIRFORD Bowling Club hosted the semi-finals of the Gloucestershire County Singles championship.
Rising star of bowls Nathan Kitchen (Cheltenham) reached his fifth final to play the 2005 champion Paul Bryant (Olveston) at Pineholt BC on a date to be decided in August after the finals fell to the rain.
Kitchen immediately gained the upper hand against Dave Shaw (Canford) taking a 6-1 lead.
Shaw responded with a four and a two to draw level at 9-9.
Kitchen then grabbed a four and hit a purple patch from the 14th end that saw him pick up two twos and a three to be within one shot of victory. That duly came for a 21-11 win.
The other semi saw Bryant come from 3-0 down to beat Chris Davies (Coleford) 21-15.
