STRATTON YOUTH U15s ended their season with three high profile games.

They lost the first of them 4-1 to champions Croft with Jack Sheridan scoring the consolation goal.

The loss meant they required four points from their final two games to finish as runners-up.

Michael Cook, with three goals, and James Thomas (2) saw off the challenge of Kingshill 5-0 without reply, which set up a clash between second-placed Stratton and third-placed Hungerford.

It was the visitors who, against the run of play, took the lead but Cook quickly levelled and early second-half goals from Joe Speak and Thomas put the home team in the driving seat.

However, following a period in which the visitors dominated, they punished the home defence from a corner, and soon after levelled the score to set up a tense last five minutes.

Stratton did, though, hold on to finish the season as worthy runners-up in the league.

Stratton U18s were disappointed to end the season in third place. But for having to forfeit one fixture they had won, they would have secured the title.

Stratton U17s finished fifth having a good second half of the season.

They lost the two games versus the champions by the odd goal.

Stratton U14s, under the new manager Simon Witt, improved immensely on previous season's efforts and will be looking forward to the new campaign.

Stratton U12s were a very creditable fourth and will also be looking to push on, with coaches Mark Dent and Darren Tanner wanting to put in place the ideas picked up on the recent GFA course.

The mini section involving two U9s teams and one U7s side had very good seasons, and will look to continue their development, along with a new U7s group next season.
