WILTSHIRE showjumping superstar Jessica Mendoza has broken into the top 100 in the Longines World Rankings.
Now based in Eindhoven in the Netherlands, the 19-year-old prodigy has been turning heads in the sport for some time and reached 97th in the world following a string of good results in Italy.
Mendoza is a UK Sport National Lottery funded World Class Development Programme rider and swept the board at the Toscana Tour in Arezzo last week.
Jessica, who started riding at the age of three, is setting her sights high as her career develops.
“I’d like to reach the top level and compete in some nationals,” said Jessica.
“The goals are future Olympics and more high level competitions.
“I’m going to Shanghai later this year and am looking to have a good performance there too.”
The news of her top 100 success follows news of her becoming the 10th ranked British showjumper in the world at the age of 18 in March.
