PETER KILDEMAND has temporarily returned to the fold at Swindon Robins as injury cover for Adrian Miedzinski.

Danish racer Kildemand, who was a big hit with fans when riding as Swindon No.1 last season, makes his 2015 debut when Swindon travel to King’s Lynn on April 22.

Miedzinski suffered an horrific hand injury in the Robins’ season opener against Poole at the Abbey last week and will be sidelined for several weeks.

Team boss Alun Rossiter is delighted to call upon Kildemand, who chose not to ride regularly in Britain this season due to greater commitments in Europe.

Rossiter expects Kildemand to be at the Abbey until around the World Cup break in June.

And he is backing the spectacular 25-year-old to have a big part to play during his short term spell back with the club.

Rossiter said: “It was a massive shame Adrian (Miedzinski) picked up such a nasty injury in our first meeting of the season.

“We’ll find out after Adrian has had surgery how long he is likely to be out, but I think we'll look to target him coming back around the World Cup break.

“Although it’s a big blow to lose him we are pleased to bring back Peter Kildemand, a rider who everyone knows is capable of scoring plenty of points and winning races.

“We know what we are getting with PK, and in fairness it was probably one of the easiest deals to do – when I asked him to come back for a short period of time there was no hesitation at all."
