ASHTON KEYNES earned their place in the final of the Alexcars Cirencester Junior Charities Cup with an emphatic 7-1 victory at Tetbury Town.

After a quick start by the hosts, Ashton Keynes began to control the game and a brave header by Scott Smith opened the scoring.

Ashton then went further ahead thanks to two calmly-taken individual goals by Richard Sutton.

Chris Field made it 4-0 before the break with a fantastic 25-yard free kick into the top corner.

At half-time it seemed like the game was out of sight. However, Ashton Keynes did not let up and they scored shortly after the interval thanks to another good goal by Smith.

Tetbury managed to score a consolation goal via a fantastic half-volley before Kevin Horton replied soon after with a brilliant low strike into the corner.

Smith then rounded off the scoring with a composed finish, completing his hat-trick in the process.

Ashton Keynes take on Siddington Sports Veterans in the final at Cirencester Town FC on Tuesday, May 7 (kick-off: 7pm)
