A LOCAL point-to-point is coming into the 21st century by offering e-ticketing for the first time.

Spectators heading for the Cotswold meeting at Andoversford on Sunday (April 12) will benefit from cheaper admission if booking online.

The race meeting has added electronic ticketing to its web site in order to encourage pre-purchase of tickets.

Powered by Irish software start-up Future Ticketing, spectators will be able to save money by buying in advance and speed up their entry to each event.

Peter McNeile, for Andoversford races, home of the Cotswold point-to-point, said: "The world operates in a digital environment nowadays, through the internet, mobile communications and social media.

"This ticket solution offers us a perfect chance to know our customers and to save them money by communicating with them about these and other events in our calendar."

Andoversford races has both steeplechasing and pony racing which starts at 12 noon. There will be trade stands, a licensed bar, bookmakers, food stands and chidren's activities.

General adult admission when booked in advance is £8.
