Wroughton Town Res 4 Oaksey Reserves 0
OAKSEY RESERVES lost by the odd goal to Wroughton in the reverse fixture last week but this defeat was more emphatic.
Oaksey took the game to the hosts and the constant pressure rattled a few of the Wroughton players, two of whom picked up yellow cards.
Wroughton held on and managed to sneak a goal close to half-time.
The second half saw Wroughton start to take more control of the game and a second goal put pressure on the Oaksey team.
A slick passing move between Adam Wickson and Tom Topping should have finished with a goal, but the ball arrived slightly behind Wickson, and he was unable to convert it.
That would have made it 2-1 and could have resulted in a closer finish. But it wasn't to be and Oaksey's heads and consequently their performance dropped which allowed Wroughton to seal the game with a further two goals.
Steve Leighfield (2), Steven Nesbitt and substitute Jamie Pidgeon did the damage for the home side.
