POULTON, Division One title hopefuls in the M4 Karting Cirencester & District League, continue to stutter.

They suffered their third defeat since Christmas, going down 1-0 at Malmesbury Vics Reserves to a Jordan Matthews goal.

South Cerney continue to set the pace and recorded a 4-0 away victory at Highworth Town Development, with Steve Andrews hitting a hat-trick and Matt Almond also getting on the scoresheet.

Reigning champions CHQ United picked up an important three points with a 2-1 victory at Oaksey's temporary ground in Sherston.

Steve Reeves capitalised on a defensive mistake to put the visitors ahead, but Jake Pegler equalised midway through the second half.

CHQ's Sam Bird won the game with an excellent finish from Troy Weaven's left wing cross.

Intel remain among the leaders after a comfortable home win over The Beeches, with Jody Lawrence scoring twice for the visitors. Dan Welbourne and Tom Duff both scored twice for Intel, with Adam O'Bree and Rob Clark getting the other goals.

At the foot of the table, Minchinhampton Town won 4-3 at Siddington Sports, thanks to goals from George Lane (2), James Lindsey and Craig Pugh.

Minchinhampton's discipline let them down as the picked up four yellow cards.

Division Two leaders Wroughton Town Reserves increased their lead at the top with a 4-0 win at Blunsdon, thanks to strikes from Lee Curtis, Lee Hedges, Dan Morton and Steve Nesbitt.

Second-placed Down Ampney suffered a setback when they were held 2-2 at home by Stratton United, with Chris Austen and Dan Timbrell scoring for the visitors.

Siddington Sports Veterans remain in contention after a convincing 8-1 win at Tetbury Town III, for whom Mike Baverstock got the home side's consolation goal.

Ashton Keynes' recent good run of results was brought to an end when they lost 4-3 to Oaksey Reserves who are sharing the Ashton ground this season.

Gareth Jones scored a very well-taken hat-trick for the victors with Adam Topping getting the decisive goal.

Minchinhampton Reserves, who had also enjoyed some good recent results, suffered defeat at South Cerney Reserves. Nathan Littler scored twice for Cerney with further goals from Harley Coram and Jordan Allen; Danny Bishop replied for the visitors.

Lechlade Reserves and Minety earned a point each in a 0-0 draw, with the visitors reduced to 10 men late on when substitute Mark Harvey was sent off.
