THE Swindon Wildcats bounced back from their home defeat on Saturday to take both points in a 6-3 Sunday victory at MK Lightning.

This time it was the Cats who were quick out of the blocks when captain Jan Kostal scored after the Lightning's netminder Jordan Hedley had initially saved Aaron Nell's shot. It was the only goal of the first period.

Leigh Jamieson levelled the scores in the second period but moments later Nell restored the lead with a powerful strike. The Wildcats ended the period in the ascendancy when Adam Harding made it 3-1.

Tension mounted when the home side's Milan Kostourek found two goals in as many minutes at the start of the third period to make it 3-3.

But Sweden's Jonas Hoog quashed the home momentum with Swindon's fourth goal and the visitors closed out the game strongly with further goals from Harding and rising star Toms Rutkis.

Swindon Wildcats now face an exciting home Challenge Cup semi final against the Manchester Phoenix on Wednesday.
