Glos Northern Senior Div Two

Bredon 2 Avonvale Utd 3

A COMPLETE first-half performance from Avonvale in a tricky fixture at fourth-placed Bredon saw them take a commanding 3-0 lead by half-time.

Two players making only their second appearances of the season combined in the build-up to the opening goal.

A neat turn from Sam Jenner allowed him enough space to thread the ball through to Dominic Jackson whose effort re-bounded off the keeper to Tom Blackah who slotted home.

Minutes later, the Vale were two up after a lovely ball from Jackson found Jamie Packer who still had plenty to do but finished perfectly with an accurate shot into the bottom corner from a narrow angle.

Blackah then found himself in space on the left and his perfect cross was ably finished by Packer for his second and the visitors' third.

Avonvale's determination to add to their lead in the second half saw them concede possession carelessly on too many occasions and allow Bredon to gain a foothold in the game when they scored early in the second-half.

Without substitutes and with tiring legs on a heavy pitch, the visitors conceded again in the final minute but weren't to be denied a deserved victory.
