STRATTON YOUTH ROUND-UP

Stratton Youth U15s 7 FC Chippenham U15s 1

STRATTON expected a tough game at home to league leaders Chippenham, but it turned out to be an extremely one-sided affair.

The visitors had some quick and skilful players but were no match on the day for Stratton who took the lead early when Joe Speak cut in from the left and fired a shot across the keeper into the far corner.

Four more strikes from Michael Cook (2), Jethro Kingsley and an own goal gave Stratton a comfortable 5-0 half-time lead.

In the second half Chippenham got a consolation goal but Cook completed his hat-trick and Jack Sheridan fired home from the edge of the box late on to leave the final score 7-1.

Malmesbury U14s 6 Stratton Youth U14s 1

A DEPLETED Stratton Youth team took to the field against the division's in-form side Malmesbury.

Hosts Malmesbury took the lead early on, scoring twice on five and 18 minutes, before Stratton struck back on 22 minutes with a fine shot by Joe Shepherd.

The game ebbed and flowed before Malmesbury went into half-time 3-1 up following their third goal on 33 minutes.

In the second half, Stratton battled hard and put together some good attacking moves, but Malmesbury's superiority showed as they kept their play fresh, having the luxury of substitutions.

They put together some good passing to extend their lead with three goals in the first 20 minutes of the second half and eventually finished the game 6-1 winners.

Jack Rogers was MoM for Stratton, while the home side scorers were Harry Thompson (3), Alfie Moxom (2) and Ollie Smith.

Stratton Youth U12s 2 Lydiard Youth Black U12s 3

A MATCH between teams in third and fourth places in the league was always going to be a close game, and so it proved with Lydiard just edging out the home side to take the three points.

Stratton scorers were Barney Kimber and Stephen Milton-McConnell, while Will Steckerl (2) and Ollie Tremlen were on target for the home team.

STRATTON YOUTH U9s hosted Fairford U9s in a very good game with Ollie Potter and Leo Jones on target.
