Bluefin Sport Supplementary Cup 2nd Round
Fairford Town 2 Abingdon United 3
FAIRFORD TOWN exited the Bluefin Sport Cup at the second round stage on Saturday after a narrow defeat to Abingdon United.
The visit of Premier Division opponents offered the Reds another chance to test themselves – and it was a battling display from the home side with plenty of positives to take for manager Gareth Davies.
Keiran Cochrane opened the scoring for the visitors from an Anaclet Odihambo cross before Stuart Fraser netted the leveller after good work from strike partner Lewis Petrie.
Paul Alder put the visitors in front again just after the break before Odihambo increased the Abingdon advantage.
Fairford didn't give up and late on substitute Jack Allen fired home on his return to action after injury.
