Christmas Bowmaker
THE Minchinhampton Golf Club Seniors Bowmaker was won by Brian Mallon with a score of 24 points.
The winning team with 50 points were David Sturman, Derrick Jellyman, Andrew Poolman and Anthony Fisher. Runners-up were Derek Bayliss, Mil Petkovic, Richard Morton and David Charlesworth who also had 50 points.
Third place went to David Calvert, Brian Mallon, Bernard Lunn and Paul Archer, also on 50 points.
It was the last event of 2014 presided over by captain Ron Barker.
During his year in command the seniors played 43 matches against other clubs, winning 24 halving 4 and losing 15.
Ron played in 40 of the matches along with many club competitions.
His chosen charities were The Western Air Ambulance and Winstones Wish.
So far the seniors have raised more than £2,056 for these causes.
After the prize giving vice captain Terry Dwight thanked Ron on behalf of the seniors for a very successful year.
Terry will succeed Ron as seniors' captain at the drive-in on January 3, 2015.
